Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, fruity, moderate to heavy yeasty, fruity, bubble gum, light apple, phenol notes. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light light alcoholic. Tap @ In de Wildeman. Black colour, tan head. Aroma is roasted malts and coffee. Flavour is roasted malts, coffee, bit of dark fruits. Fairly bitter finish.

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning, as D&L Houtgerijpte Rook Dubbelbock, 7.5% ABV. Dark brown colour, dense off white head. Aroma of smoked malts, some tobacco, light wood, vanilla, light fruity. Flavour is light sweet, caramel, light salty, smoked malts, smoked light bitter finish. Medium bodied.

Bottled @ de Wildeman. Slight hazy golden color, big white head. Aroma is of soft flowery hops, bit citrus, bit spicy, like a hopped belgian blonde beer. Moderate bitter taste, bit spicy, slight dryish. Again, a more than decent beer.

Tap @ Utrechts bokbier ’10. Dark color, medium brownish head. Aroma of smoke and bacon, roasted malt. Smoke is a bit like the german smoked beers. Slight bitter taste, smokey wood edge. The smoke gets lighter in time, like my tastebuds get used to it. Easy drinkable. Again a very decent beer by this new brewery.

(Draught at In de Wildeman, Amsterdam, 30 July 2010) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, malty nose with apricots, citrus, canned fruit and spicy hops. Fruity, slightly malty taste with notes of peaches, citrus and a generous spicy bitterness with hints of grass. Slightly above medium body, sweetish. Quite nice.
