Description
Ridgeway Brewing was established in 2002 by master brewer Peter Scholey (former head brewer at Brakspear) and his wife Vanda. The name comes from the ancient trade route that winds its way through English countryside between small towns. It has been around for thousands of years, adapting with the changing times, The reason why we chose the name Ridgeway, apart from living on it, was that we hope to create lasting experiences, believe in the long term and love the outdoors.

Bottled. Pale yellow colour, not much head. Aroma was an interesting mix of American and British hops (or atleast comparable to that!). Smooth flavour of hops, flowers and hay with slight citrus notes.

Dark brown color. The aroma has some malt. The body structure is ordinary; the flavor has some roasted malt, burnt sugar and liquorice, more evident at the end; there is some alcohol feeling in the final. Drinkable but unspectacular.

Bottled at Plain Kitchen, Gothenburg. Pours clear, golden-orange, with a small, off-white head. Fruity hops, pine, resin and tropical fruits in the aroma. The flavor is citrusy and fruity, with mango, hops and pine. Slightly astringent, medium body. For a English ESB, it is very well hopped. Almost too hop-dominated. (060824)

(Bottle 50 cl) Slightly hazy amber with a creamy head. Citrusy and hoppy nose. Medium-bodied with a slight touch of caramel but everything is overpowered by a very distinct, citrusy hoppiness that also leaves a more than solid bitterness. A bit too raw bitterness for my liking. 240806
