Description
In 1890 the Companhia União Fabril Portuense das Fábricas de Cerveja e Bebidas Refrigerantes (CUFP) was founded in Porto. In 1926 Super Bock beer was introduced and received a trademark in 1927. In 1975, after the Carnation Revolution in 1974, the Portuguese brewing industry was nationalised. There followed a period of restructuring of the sector. In 1977 CUFP was transformed into Unicer - União Cervejeira E.P. The 1980s marked the change of Unicer E.P. to Unicer S.A., with the company moving from the public to the private sector. In 2017 Unicer became the Super Bock Group.

Can. Clear dark gold with an ok white head. Aroma of herbs and a little bit of citrus fruits. Taste of malts, citrus fruits, herbs and pine. Strong and lasting bitterness. Medium carbonation. Nothing out of the ordinary but decent enough.

0,5 can. - Zakopane-ban futottam bele véletlenül ebbe a portugál sörbe. A doboz pofon egyszerű, a sör sima lager-arany, a hab szépen tartott, meglepően sokáig.

I stumbled upon this Portuguese beer by chance in Zakopane. The can is easy pale, the beer is a pale lager-gold, head lasted nicely, surprisingly long. The maltiness is normal, the aroma of a more sophisticated industrial pale lager, nothing special. It's quite watery, but it's not the cheap Hungarian style, more of a very basic pale... The taste is quite normal, sweet maltiness, and has a "clean" effect, there are no flavor flaws. The hops aren't too bad either, because there's almost no bitterness :) It was good for a thirst quencher after 5 hours of driving.*

Old rating - In a 330ml bottle at a Portuguese restaurant in St Helier, Jersey. Taste is pretty average for these mass produced lagers.

Not a grand cru, in my point of view. An industrial lager, light and watery with thin notes of toasted malt, bready, note of glucose, extract of hop, so-so, 03.10.2021, drinking it in Santa-Clara area, Sevilla, visiting my father

Bottled in Porto. Pretty much what you'd expect. Clear gold pour and a bit of hops bite on the normal light lager

Keg at the John Bull, Cascais, 01/05/2025.
Golden amber topped with a just off white cap that thins to a swirl.
Nose is caramel malt, hint of orange, straw, biscuit.
Taste comprises orange peel, caramel, citric tinged straw, grass.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a modest spattering of hop bitterness.
Passable macro stab at an old skool IPA.
