Description
Great beer, good music in back, odd people. We are a small microbrewery located south of Chicago in Lansing, Illinois. Our tasting room serves eight different selections of our hand-crafted beer. Our beer won't make you strong or handsome, but if you appreciate craft beer and want to meet some guys that are happy to make it, serve it, and probably drink it with you.

Bottle @ RBSG Grand Tasting. Pours a reddish brown appearance with a brown head. Port, dark grape, leather, slightly burnt malty, chocolate aroma. Twangy, caramel, grape medicine, oak, chocolate flavor. A bit top sweet and a bit too boozy. Kind of strange flavors.

Taster at the Blarney Stone’s Solstice Fest, Oak Forest. Spicy nose with a bit of fruity hop to it, and nuttin’ wrong with that. Brownish color, in fact taste is a bit like a nut brown ale. On the palate I get a nice dose of hops, but the rye also lends a note of hemp.

Finally writing my notes from Blarney Stone’s Summer Solstice Craft Beer Fest (also know as Stanley Cup Finals game 5). And I’m not only cracking the top off a new brewery, it’s with a beer no one else has rated yet. Big look and smell of amber malt, with a bit fresh yeast thrown in. Definitely a strong beer, though the abv is right at the middle by barley wine standards. The extra wheat malt is felt mostly in the mouthfeel, coming in a little smoother. Pats down any brusque disorderliness from the hops. Great early effort and I’m glad to have finally caught one of their beers.
