Nose is astonishing pure chocolate & brownie sludge sweetness, sweet coffee, very sweet bourbon chocolate pralines, hazelnut, ridiculous old school RIS bourbon desert sweetness. Taste is slightly bitter upfront, not necessary but it works for me, some light black chocolate bitterness upfront leading into brownie dough, sweet chocolate, mocha, pralines, faint coconut, very sweet bourbon. This I love, body is all syrup, 15 % ABV doesn’t show. "The Big Lebowski" reference is just gravy on top.

Bottle @ "Klimaet Cellar Clearance", 15%. Very dark brown with small beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, candy and coconut. Flavour is roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, coconut, sweet, warming, little liquorice, vanilla, candy, hop and a little bitter.

Flavor is sweet, malty, caramel, coconut, vanilla, wood, bourbon. Medium to full body, soft carbonation, sweet finish with some warming alcohol. Bottle @ Klimaet Cellar Clearance. Black with a brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, coffee, coconut and bourbon. Flavor is very sweet and rather bitter. Sweet and rather bitter finish with lots of warming alcohol. Oily. 030217

Bottle. Nice creamy head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are coconut, roast malt, chocolate, vanilla, bourbon and has a sweet chocolate, bourbon finish.

12 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but is a recent release. Pours crystal clear deep reddish brown color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted brown bread, nuttiness, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/bready malt, chocolate/cocoa, and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted brown bread, nuttiness, herbal, light pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/spicy hop and cocoa/roast bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted brown bread, nuttiness, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt, chocolate/cocoa, and light earthy hop flavors; with a great roast/hop bitter/sweet balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Very clean on lager flavors; with zero yeast notes present. Light dryness from lingering hop/roast bitterness, lightly increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and lightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.8%. Overall this is an excellent flavored traditional bock! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt, chocolate/cocoa, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. Very rich and complex on malts for the ABV; with balanced chocolate/cocoa flavors. A really enjoyable and delicious offering.

12oz can pours with a slightly hazy copper body that supports a dirty white head of foam. The aroma offers bitter pine hops, some floral hops, spicy hops, a dash of citrus hops and then leading into biscuit to lightly caramel malts. The taste delivers a pleasing rich hoppy depth that begins with firm bitter pine hops and then quickly gets into softer earthy hops, some spicy hops and then big floral hoppiness to midway. Just below the hops are malts to biscuit malts providing a base of operations. Toward the finish a nice citrus hop juiciness comes to the surface to help balance the bitter hops that are still hanging on. Pretty nice kind of old school IPA that I can really sink my teeth into.
