Die Geschichte der Altenmünster Brauer Biere ist von Anfang an geprägt vom Anspruch, besondere Spezialitäten von einzigartigem Charakter zu brauen. Um sie dann in hochwertigen Bügelflaschen mit einzigartigem Relief anzubieten – übrigens als eine der ersten Brauereien in Deutschland.
Originally the Sailerbrauerei was mentioned in a document for the first time in 1544. After a long history 1967 is considered to be the decisive point in the history of the brewery. In that year the master brewer Gerd Borges and his then wife Gertrud, née. Sailer took over the management of the brewery and made the brewery a great success. After 36 years Borges decided to sell the enterprise. Since 2003 Sailerbräu and the brand Altenmünster Brauer Biere became through the Allgäuer Brauhaus part of the Radeberger Gruppe.

Ein Bier, das wahrscheinlich aufgrund der hübschen Reliefflasche als Souvenir sehr beliebt ist. Geschmacklich ist es nicht schlecht, aber auch nicht so besonders. Ein klassisches Zwicklbier mit mittlerer Trübe und einem milden getreidigen Ton, der aber nicht an die Urigkeit und Brotigkeit von. z.B. einen Wirtshausbier herankommt. Kann man gut trinken, aber geschmacklich ist es nichts spezielles.

Bottle online from Beers Of Europe. Pours a cloudy muddy orange colour with a large thick throthy white head. Aromas of sweet grains, hay, straw, grass and white bread. Taste is sweet with more grains, bread and a slightly metallic grassy bitterness on an otherwise sweet malty finish. Thin to medium body, low carbonation and fairly smooth mouthfeel. Probably would not seek out again but not bad.

Bottle online from The Trembling Madness. Pours a clear golden colour with a medium sized throthy white head. Aromas of grains, hay, bread and honey. Taste is the same with a little added peppery spice. Malty with a very faint hop on the finish. Thinnish body, average carbonation and smooth slightly oily mouthfeel. Average but not bad.

500ml bottle from House of Trembling Madness. It pours clear yellow - gold with a frothy white head. The aroma is grassy, grainy, straw, dull herbal accents, biscuit and some nuttiness. The taste is crisp, dry, snappy, grassy bitterness, straw, toasty grain, floury, chalky, biscuit, nuttiness, soda water and a touch of peppery spice with a short, dry finish. Light body and moderate carbonation. A bit thin to be honest. Fine, drinkable stuff but lacks a bit of punch.

Optisch hellgelb mit einer weißen feinporigen Schaumkrone, die sich wässerig und nicht sonderlich gut haltbar zeigt. Die Duftaromatik zeigt Noten von leichter Malzsüße, Getreide, Brot und Würze. Der Antrunk kommt angenehm spritzig und frisch. Die Aromatik am Gaumen scheint unkompliziert, aber doch irgendwie raffiniert und überaus rund. Leicht süßlich, getreidig-malzig, angenehm würzig und dezent herb. Die Ausgewogenheit dieser Aromen verhelfen diesem Bier zu einer schönen Vollmundigkeit und einer guten Süffigkeit. Im Abgang halten die Aromen nur relativ kurz an. Danach vernimmt man eine leichte trockene Hopfennote. Ein unkompliziertes Alltagsbier ohne Fehler oder unguten Zwischentönen. Dieses Bier ist zu gut um schlecht zu sein, aber es mag wohl auch nicht aus tausend anderen Bieren herausstechen.
