Description

Originally the Sailerbrauerei was mentioned in a document for the first time in 1544. After a long history 1967 is considered to be the decisive point in the history of the brewery. In that year the master brewer Gerd Borges and his then wife Gertrud, née. Sailer took over the management of the brewery and made the brewery a great success. After 36 years Borges decided to sell the enterprise. Since 2003 Sailerbräu and the brand Altenmünster Brauer Biere became through the Allgäuer Brauhaus part of the Radeberger Gruppe.

0.5 l bottle from local 'Getränke Hoffmann', best before October 2019. Clear, golden amber with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, slightly grassy, moderately floral and minimally fruity aroma of grains, honey and straw. Gently sweet, malty, slightly bitter, moderately grassy, slightly floral and a bit fruity taste of grains, some straw and a touch of honey, followed by a short, gently bitter, slightly grassy and a little metallic, cardboardy finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft to average carbonation. Solid Maibock, just a bit harsh and rough around the edges. Could be much better if it wasn't for that nasty, metallic finish.
