Die Geschichte der Altenmünster Brauer Biere ist von Anfang an geprägt vom Anspruch, besondere Spezialitäten von einzigartigem Charakter zu brauen. Um sie dann in hochwertigen Bügelflaschen mit einzigartigem Relief anzubieten – übrigens als eine der ersten Brauereien in Deutschland.

Originally the Sailerbrauerei was mentioned in a document for the first time in 1544. After a long history 1967 is considered to be the decisive point in the history of the brewery. In that year the master brewer Gerd Borges and his then wife Gertrud, née. Sailer took over the management of the brewery and made the brewery a great success. After 36 years Borges decided to sell the enterprise. Since 2003 Sailerbräu and the brand Altenmünster Brauer Biere became through the Allgäuer Brauhaus part of the Radeberger Gruppe.

Bottle. Aroma of grain, mild herbs and malt. Taste has herbal grain, malt, biscuit and subtle bitter hop. Nice german lager.

500ml bottle into shaker. Great bottle design. Pours a hazy yellow with a thin fluffy white head. Laces well. Light and lazy carbonation. Distant aroma of grains. Good body but very little flavour. Finish is bitter and grainy with a late touch of lemon and malt. Unremarkable lager.

50cl Bottle from REWE Stenten. Clear golden colour, white head. Aroma of malts, sweet corn, paper, stale hops, light metallic. Flavour is medium sweet, malts, corn, nettles, stale bitter finish, grainy. Light bodied.

50cl Bottle from REWE Stenten. Clear golden colour, white head. Aroma of grass, sweet malts, honey. Flavour is light malty, straw, light sweet, grassy, hint of aluminium in the grassy and herbal bitter finish. Light bodied. OK.

0.5l flip-top bottle from hieber.
pours a clear amber with a medium white head and some lacing. aroma of spices, ginger, grains, caramel, chewed pencil. flavour of ginger, honey, bread, grass. bittersweet grassy finish, some alcohol warmth. a bit like a concentrated helles (or their büble bier), but muffled/dull.
