Description

Originally the Sailerbrauerei was mentioned in a document for the first time in 1544. After a long history 1967 is considered to be the decisive point in the history of the brewery. In that year the master brewer Gerd Borges and his then wife Gertrud, née. Sailer took over the management of the brewery and made the brewery a great success. After 36 years Borges decided to sell the enterprise. Since 2003 Sailerbräu and the brand Altenmünster Brauer Biere became through the Allgäuer Brauhaus part of the Radeberger Gruppe.

Bottle. Dark brown, big tan head. Slightly spicy, lightly malty nose. Nutty caramel on the tongue, moderate body with well balanced bitterness vs. malt. Not super exciting, the bitterness is a little astringent and unpleasant.

Drunk straight from the bottle: soft light malt on the nose, sweet light malt taste with a hint of fruit and floral hop bitterness in the finish

0.5 l bottle from 'REWE' (Wyk auf Föhr), best before December 2023. Clear, golden with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, slightly malty, minimally floral aroma of grains, some vanilla and light straw. Gently sweet, slightly malty, moderately bitter, a little floral taste of grains, some vanilla and light straw, followed by a short, moderately bitter finish. Medium body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Average Helles, not bad but also not that great.
