Röstiger, würzig herb-hopfiger Beginn. Trocken malzig-bitterer Mittelteil, moderat hopfig, rund.

Klasse! (7.2.2021.)

0.33 l bottle from 'Mea's Cucina', best before November 2021. A bit hazy, very dark ruby with quite some floaties and a medium large, frothy, stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently fruity and a bit grassy-spicy aroma of caramel, tangerine and a touch of grass. Gently sweet, malty, quite fruity taste of tangerine and a touch of blueberry with notes of caramel and some chocolate, followed by a short, slightly bitter, minimally grassy-spicy finish. Full body, smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft to average carbonation. Nicely smooth and moreish Bock with pleasant fruity flavours from the Mandarina Bavaria hop. Tasty!

Bottle: Deep chestnut-amber coloured, smaller and pretty stable off-white head, robust bitter-sweet nose with leafy-herbal aromas, toasted malt and chocolate stains underneath; moderate bitter-sweeg flavour, medium bodied and pretty soft; lingering - almost a bit fruity - leafy and chocolatey finish with a sweet (dark-) malty toch in the aftertaste. Překvapení! A well balanced and devilishly moreish Dunkler Bock...

0.33 l bottle from 'Bierothek' (Dortmund), best before January 2021. Slightly hazy, deep orangeish amber with a medium large, foamy, stable, off-white head. Sweetish, slightly malty and a little fruity-floral aroma of honey, light apricot and a touch of grains. Gently sweet, slightly malty, moderately bitter, a bit fruity-floral taste of honey, grains, some apricot and a touch of straw, followed by a short, slightly bitter, a little grassy finish. Almost medium-bodied, smooth but quite effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Very pleasant beer, not that deep but rather quaffable. Miles above their Edelhell.

Bottle: Deep golden, hazy, small but creamy and stable off-white head, mild to moderate dryish herbal-grassy nose with a very small amount of sweet (toasted?) malt underneath; mild dryish bitter-sweet flavour, pretty slim for a beer of 5.6 %, fizzy; a shy balancing sweetness shows up in the all in all tart herbal-bitter finish. No glory, no big difference to industrial brews...
