Description

Bottle sample @ 18de Kerstbierfestival, Essen 2012.

Sampled at OBER Kerstbierfestival 2012. Opaque hazy dark orange color, virtually no head. Smell and taste malts, (Dutch) speculaas, herbs and spices, mint and pepper. No, definitely not my thing at all.

15/XII/12 - 33cl bottle @ Kerstbierenfestival (Essen) - BB: n/a (2012-1375) Thanks to the Belgian/Dutch ratebeer crew for sharing our beers!

Little cloudy red brown beer, small beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: sweet, and indeed, speculaas spices (sort of Belgian ginger cookies). MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: pretty spicy, nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon, little sourish. Aftertaste: bitter, quite some spices, caramel, brown sugar. Works for me. Much better than cookie beer anyway.

33cl bottle from Geers, BB 09/2012.
