About
Flensburger Brauerei is one of the last country-wide operating breweries not being part of a larger brewery group. The company was founded on September 6, 1888 by five citizens of Flensburg. Today it is still mainly held by the founder families Petersen and Dethleffsen.

Swing top bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear black with an orange hue and a lively, fizzy beige head that ends creamy and slightly lacing. Surprisingly little aroma - next to nothing. Light body, sweet toffee and caramel, perhaps a vague hint of licorce even. Very sweet but a flavor profile somewhat different from other German Malz I've had. 310326

Blue swing top bottle 33 cl. Pours golden with a slight haze and a tiny, white head. Lemon aroma. Light body, lightly sweet lemon but also a sharp, astringent quinine like bitterness. 270126

Bottle shared in the train close to Hamburg. It's cold outside, ice on the water. Hoppy, grassy. Full, crisp, fresh and some crunch. Nice bitterness. Good beer. Very Pils.
