Description

Želimo svim pivoljupcima objasniti magiju nastajanja piva, važnost kvalitete sastojaka i približiti bezbrojne kombinacije okusa i aroma.

Sep ’14. Both on tap and from a 0.33 l bottle at Dva Tona bar, Split. Of course, a dark brown bodied brew with moderate ebony head. Aroma of roasted malt, especially coffee, chicory and caramel, then there is a lot of chocolate, just like the commercial indicates, although I never got dried fruits. Herbal hop aroma should be noted too. Complex for just 6.5% ABV. Flavor was also quite complex, bitterness started from coffee and went through herbal and orange hops, while sweet cappuccino, cocoa milk and caramel sweetness lightly balanced it out. Medium bodied with pleasant although shorter aftertaste that showed figs besides reflecting the flavor. was glad to see they have improved it greatly since the first release as a homebrew. Thrilled to see such things being made here, this is my absolute Croatian favorite!

Sep ’14. Both on tap and from a 0.33 l bottle at Dva Tona bar, Split. Poured clear dark amber body with a smaller head. Nice pale ale aroma, fruity with lot of citrus hops. Flavor was bitter, herbal, pine and citrus hops were persistent, but the sweet peach, biscuit malty component wasn’t shy either, making it extremely balanced. There was another occasional lightly bitter, harsh note (yeasty/grainy/spicy) which only added to its character. At only 5.3% body was relatively full (although more alcohol to support more body wouldn’t do any harm). Finish was long, pleasantly sweet vanilla, now overtaking the hop bitterness. Very good pale ale, enjoyed it numerous times since my initial rating and can only hope for more of their excellent beers in the future! Hats down Andrej and Bojan!

330ml bottle, shared by ippopotamo36 (thanks Alberto!). Pours dark brown with a good beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, nuts, coffee, some chocolate and anise, nice. Flavour is medium to low sweet at first, some chocolate notes, then coffee and licorice, leading to a bitter end. Medium body, good carbonation. A very nice beer from Croatia, bravissimi!

Bottle. Aroma dark roasted, light fruity. Dark brown colour. Taste rather thin bodied, little residual sugar. That accentuates the roasted character. Also light fruitiness. Remains nicely drinkable. Very good.

Bottle. Aroma fruity, exotic. Nice intensity, hoppy. Clear orange colour. Taste is simple, but nice, hop-centered. Fruity, a bit less intensity than aroma suggests. Still very good. Easily drinkable.
