Funky as Bootsy Collins’ underpants. Full of horseblanket, grape must, citrus, blueberry and raspberry, vanilla, oak, rye, and a healthy dose of bourbon on the back end. Crazy as shit, but pretty delicious.

No dating found on the can.
Pours close to pitch black, if it isn't, nice head of tan foam, great lacing of tan foam around the glass.
Huge chocolate, cocoa nibs smell. Wow. There's something else in there..maybe lactose.
Luscious chocolate stroke cocoa nibs taste. Reminiscent of the Samuel Smith Chocolate beer. Semi sweet with a touch of bitter dark chocolate. Nice balance, good job of hiding the 8%abv.
High end of medium bodied, lowish carbonation.
Delicious beer. I'm a bit puzzled as to how this showed up locally..

Bottle from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours translucent copper with a white head. Aroma of slightly roasty malt with some citrus. Med body. Flavor matches the aroma. This is not very exciting stuff. Surprised Shmaltz didn't amp up the contract specs. Not as dry as I'd like; not so bitter as I'd like. Disappointing.

355ml bottle. Minimally milky, golden colour with small to average, thick, creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Slightly papery, citrusy hoppy aroma, minimally artificial hints of lemon, lemon tea. Taste is dry papery, citrusy hoppy, hints of cardboard, minimally artificial hints of lemon and lime, bitter, herbal-grassy overtones as well. So-so.
Clear golden bod med foam off wht head. Spicy floral arma. Spicy floral bready flav. Med bod mod carb. 7/3/7/3/13 3.3

12oz bottle pours out cola brown color topped with a sand head. Nose is cinnamon spice notes and some sweet caramel malts. Taste is more of the nice spice combo and a enjoyable sweet malt.

12oz bottle pours with a slightly hazy copper gold body that supports a thin white head of foam. The thin aroma offers up citrus, floral hops and a dark bread to caramel sort of maltiness. The taste is a little too floral hop forward but it does deliver some nice citrus notes as well as a bit of pine hops. Decent Pale that ends floral just as it started.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 10/26/2017. Pours lightly hazy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 1 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, red apple, melon, citrus peel/zest, peppercorn, clove, pine, cocoa, cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light honey, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/earthy hops, fruity/spicy yeast, cocoa, and bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big lemon, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, red apple, melon, citrus peel/zest, peppercorn, clove, pine, cocoa, cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light honey, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy bitterness; and peppery yeast spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, red apple, melon, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, clove, pine, cocoa, cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/earthy hops, fruity/spicy yeast, cocoa, and bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and minimal lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitter/spiciness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky, and fairly crisp balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Minimal warming alcohol for 8%. Overall this is a very good hoppy Belgian blonde ale. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/earthy hops, fruity/spicy yeast, cocoa, and bready malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink for the ABV, with the modestly bitter/spicy/drying finish. Not overly bitter/spicy. Malts have a slight stale character going on. Very well balanced between hops, yeast, malts, and cocoa nib character. Minimal residual sweetness from lingering dryness. A very enjoyable, unique, and well made style example.

22oz bottle pours out copper amber topped with sand head. Nose is sweet caramel rye spice malts and some pine. Taste is more of the nice rye malts spice and a nice hop kick.
