Deep dark brown coloured body with a muddied glow, about eighty per cent opaque and a nice, but relatively fast-dying tan head. Aroma of rich lactose, cream, nuts, earth, caramelised sugars and some icing sugar here as well - interesting and similar to a scent of real irish cream perhaps, but quite nutty and earthy with a slight rustic scent as well, but this is relatively clean in the nose. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong earthy and especially creamy notes come out of this with a good malt focus and some sweetness from lactose, but the nutty and especially creamy aspects are quite strong, in a good way, with only a touch of bitterness here noticeable, and a clean malt profile with a light sweetness on the end without much alcohol at all. Aftertaste shows some pungent richness and dry, caramel note with a light bitterness from grain, some subdued alcohol bite towards the end and a relatively clean, lactosey, super creamy, almost milky sweetness from icing sugar at the tail end, but not cloying. Overall, a pretty nice, relatively robust beer with a good malt bill, some clean sugars, a lot of nutty and earthiness, but more creamy, lactosey notes than anything else - nice to sample, not too far away from the next Saint Patrick's Day. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Trader Joe's in Falls Church, Virginia (Skyline) on 25-August-2022 for US$3,50 sampled at my house here in Washington on 07-February-2023 after watching the State of the Union by President Biden.

Clear, completely see-through golden and barely honey coloured body with a very thick, super rich four to five centimetre tall tan head that stays afloat nicely with a great microfoam that persists! Aroma of passionfruit, guava, deep tropical notes with some grass and citrus fruits as well, with a deep malt behind and some noticeable alcohol in the nose, too. Medium to Full-bodied; Very rich deep malt and alcohol notes dominate here with a ton of bitterness from the alpha acids in the hops, but also the tropical fruits cut through a bit and bring out a dash (albeit small) of sugars near the tail end. Aftertaste is still deeply bittered from all the hops, but a fairly good balance is struck with the deep malt, astringent metallic notes and some of the fruitiness that is derived from the tropically notes and citrus components. Overall, a deep and strong beer throughout that is really a mashup of the old school bitterness and punch from the hops, but the smell of passionfruit and tropical notes that you'd get from a newer IPA. Nice to try, but not one of my favourites here. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Trader Joe's in Arlington (Clarendon), Virginia on 23-August-2021 for US$3,50 sampled at my house here in Washington on 06-September-2021.
