22 ounce bottle from Greenwood Gourmet Grocery near Crozet, VA. Bottle number 1182 of 2009. Medium large brown head with good head retention and lacing. Aroma of toffee, brown sugar, maple and light bourbon notes. Taste is roasted malts, coffee, buttered popcorn, toffee, brown sugar. Slightly bitter finish. Medium-full bodied. Nice beer, but not great.

Courtesy of dkachur! Pours dark brown with tan head. The aroma is dark roasty, molasses, vanilla and a bit of ripe cherry. Nice. The taste is much the same and feeling pretty thin. It has loads of flavor with dark roastiness and coffee moving toward caramel, chocolate, vanilla and a bit of dark fruitiness. Wow, tasty brew. I love this stuff.

Freaking awesome. Aroma is citrusy but also featuring a bright floral note. Flavor is also floral, nearly chewy with flowers, but the real gem is the tartness, getting into Berliner weisse territory. The floral character follows through all the way to the lightly bitter-floral finish. Very refreshing although the malts sat a little too heavy to be called a true lawnmower beer, but the wonderful mix of floral heather, citrus and tartness makes for a very characterful beer. Hazy golden with a foamy head.

Classic porter nose with elements of chocolate, caramel, hints of roast and coffee. Flavor is medium bodied and caramel sweet with some chocolate and a finish reminiscent of coffee liqueur. Semi-sweet finish. Dark brown, near opaque with a nice creamy fine-bubbled head. Really solid.

Deep pitch black coloured body with a very thin brown head. Aroma of coffee, tobacco, roasted malt, bitter nuts and some caramel. Full-bodied; Strong assertive malt and coffee flavours with some bitter metal coming through near the end. Aftertaste shows oak & vanilla with a little coffee, but not much. Overall, a pretty good beer for the style, and although it says its a Winter seasonal, I had this during the summer! I sampled this pint on draught at RFD in Washington, DC on 16-July-2009.

Overall Impression: No notes to speak of from a rating that is about 2 years old (I'm thinking I got it at Total Wine in Richmond)...I'll insert the score though, and should I drink this beer again I'll be sure to update.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Total Wine - Richmond, 7/12/09
Aroma: Nice earthy and fruity hops, pine, grapefruit
Appearance: Cloudy light brownish amber color,
Flavor: Similar to the nose with a bit of an odd finish that detracts from the taste, nice hop taste in there though
Palate: Light-medium body, pretty smooth, dry, and a drop soapy
Overall Impression: I got a good impression from the nose, and the beer itself isn't bad either, it's not great by any means, but it's worth a drink.

Bottle. Pours brown with a large head. Smells of sweet malts. Brown ale flavor, with a sweet tinge and an extreme bitter finish. This is pretty tasty... wasnβt sure how I felt about this at first, but I like it.
