Bottle. Pours a hazy golden color. Medium white head. Didn’t really get too much of a wheat beer taste from this wheat beer, more like a typical ale to be honest. Plain and slightly yeasty.

Black. Fizzy. There was light coffee and some roasted character. Well balanced. Flavor had just a little sweetness. Medium palate.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with an orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel, medium notes of hops, and light notes of alcohol. The flavor is sweet malty again with strong notes of caramel, and hoppy notes giving it hints of pine needles, leading to a OK bitter finish.

Virginia Beer Fest 2007. The head brewer told me that this is their American Ale. This is meant to be their general purpose beer. "Give me an Alewerks" and this is what they plan to give you. Clear golden amber body with a small white head. Somewhat grainy light caramel aroma. Grainy carmel and light fruit flavor. For a general purpose beer, this isn’t too bad.

Virginia Beer Fest 2007. Clear brown body with a large creamy light brown head. Sweet malty and hops aroma. Sweet floral and citrus hops flavor with a malty caramel background.

Draft at Virginia Beer Festival. Interesting to find that this is a brown ale. The pour was nearly black, with a really dark head. Aroma is a little sweet, caramel, and roasted nuts. I really thought that this beer was some kind of porter/stout instead. With that said I thought it was a really solid beer.

Draft at Virginia Beer festival. Poured with a dark, clear amber body. Aroma was sweet grapefruit and caramel. Taste is citrus (mainly grapefruits). Really good to be honest.

Va BF 07 Draft: Aroma was chestnut and hops. Pours cloudy brown with a thick head and good lacing. Very acidiic, flavor of nuts and caramel. Nice hop finish.

Soapy and grainy aroma with a hint of pineapple. Cloudy old gold color, thin head, no lacing. Very floral for a wheat beer, actually more like a weak pale ale. Nice hops, enjoyable. Subtle bread finish, a little yeasty. Not a bad beer, but not a good wheat beer.
