Reddish brown pour from Ebbits in DC. Clean rye notes but a bit more citrus than chewy

Hazy golden coloured body with a nice, two centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of super pungent rye and hop elements with some rain, alcohol and bitterness from earth and resin - strong and pungent, but very nice. Medium to Full-bodied; Rich rye malty flavours with a bit more of the funky grain, some subdued earth and bitter resin elements, but the hops hit harder with some toffee, caramel and lighter fruits. Aftertaste shows some alcohol, a lot of toffee and earth and a bit of alcohol with sugars that are residual from the remnants. Overall, a nice rye-based IPA with a lot of bitterness and a strong grain flavour that starts in the nose and ends way later. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Binny’s in Chicago (Downtown), Illinois on 25-May-2016 for US$1,67 sampled at home in Washington on 25-October-2016.

can - Pour lightly hazy gold and has an aroma of citrus hops. It’s aggressively bitter with good citrus notes and some malt sweetness that comes out more as it warms. Good.

5oz pour at Atlas. Slightly hazy yellow-tan body. French fry aroma in the air throwing my game off. Big, poorly poured white head. Mellow aroma. Sweet, delicate fruity tinged golden malt. A little peppery/spicy, but a solid representation of the style. Banana clove, citrus hops. Bubblegum. Flowery. Pretty good. A little perfume, a touch too harsh on the palate to really be Belgian.

Aroma of tropical fruit, hops and rye malt. Medium body with flavors of fruity hops, doughy malt and mildly spicy rye. The finish is moderately bitter with a citrusy hops and rye aftertaste.
