Canned, 0.50l. Clear deep golden color with thin white head. Aroma is artificial, floral with notes of alcohol and corn, not really pleasant. Taste starts sweet malty, followed by exotic fruits or flowers. Mouthfeel is syrupy with strong alcoholic note. Light to medium body, sticky texture and soft carbonation in palate. Ahhh, bullpiss...

Another milestone. Schlitz rates me for the big G: This one comes in a cheap Value Village shirt with badly matched shoes and an uneven shave. Straight from the beginning, it’s clear that solidfunk has absolutely no respect for me. Pouring me into a glass he didn’t bother to clean of the despicable taste of some horribly dark dunkler bock. Raising an eyebrow at the lack of head I so thoughtfully provided. Twitching his nose at the preservative chemicals I’m so lovingly laced with. Gagging at the first sip of sour malt-liquor like deliciousness that I painted the walls of his throat with. It’s just for that reason that I intend to leave my special aroma floating through his digestive system and polluting the drain of his sink after he pours me out in disgust.

Schlitz Red Bull X.L (Extra Long, ?what?) Malt Liquor 5.9%
40 pours watery clear gold with loose off white head. The aroma is what’s expected as corn flakes mixed with caro syrup covered apples and chemical booze bubble up out of the paper bag covered glass. Hmm. The taste is watery thin and has a watery neutral taste now and then too. The flavor follows the nose notes with corn, estery fruitiness, sweetness and chemical booze. All of these notes are thin and luckily that makes them rather timid too. If you must drink this it really does help if it is near freezing cold.

Bottle. Light sour malt aroma. Clear golden yellow with a small white head. Solid malty flavor. Light carbonated body. If this is typical of beer from the 60’s, macros have definitely declined in the last few decades.

Bottle. Slightly sour barley malt aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Slightly sweet creamy barley malt and light herbal hops flavor. Nice body. Very reminiscent of a German Helles. Very nice - wonder how many other beers were dumbed down during the 70s and 80s.

Originally rated May 2005. Full golden colour with some decent lace. Average carbonation with some malt scent and alcohol found in the aroma. The taste is malt with hints of apple, which give this brew a nice aftertaste. Other then the aroma, the rest I think is decent for a swill lager.
