Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours a clear dark amber with a dense off-white and lacing head. Very spicy aroma - pine and ginger. Medium body, somewhat caramellish and a very ashy, bitter finish that doesn’t seem to derive from hops. Almost astringently bitter, herbal. 130711

Bottled. A pale brown beer with an off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt, nuts, caramel, and some spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, hay, and spices, leading to bitter finish.

Bottled@The Chriso "Rock The Roof Down" pre-gbbf shindig. Very deep brown colour, close to black with a small beigeish brown head. Aroma is liquorice, roasted malts, some alcohol as well as dark dry fruits and soms slight burning sugar. Flavour is roasted malts, some liquorice, mild fruityness as well as some raisins. Longlasting big malty finish.

Bottle with Nick. Pours cloudy gold with a soft, white head. Aroma holds some doughy malts and juicy hops. Fairly sweet flavor, good bit of bread and cereal, some light grass, slight herbals. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Warm finish, heavy malts, some faint pine, white sugar. Not bad.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Slightly hazy golden colour, white head. Nose is hoppy, citrus, bit flowery. Flavour is hoppy, well malted, caramel, citrus, some sourness. Very flavourful. Medium bodied. Well balanced. Fairly bitter and slightly dry finish. Very pleasant.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Hazy golden colour, medium white head. Nose is hoppy, citric and malty. Typical Saaz hoppiness. Flavour is oily malty, fairly bitter and good hopped. Fairly bitter finish. This is good stuff.

Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham. Pours slightly hazy light gold with a thin head. Aroma is bready yeast with some raisin and apple. Taste has a little ginger and apple to start with a bready malt, medium bitter finish.

275ml Bottle - Very dark in colour. Leather, vinous fruit, Bournville chocolate and coffee in the aroma. The taste is rich and complex with notes of plain chocolate, coffee and roasted malt. A nice one to sip and rather indulgent.
