Bottle 275ml. [ Bottle #967/1300 ]. Light unclear medium orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, overriped fruit, wood, moderate hoppy, fruity - dark citrus fruity. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, overriped fruit, fruity hop, peppery hops finish. Body is medium to medium full, texture is oily - syrupy and sticky, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcohlic and warm. [20101202]

500ml Bottle - Gold/light amber in colour. Hops, marmalade and peach in the aroma. Hoppy, slightly sweet and moderately bitter taste with notes of peach, apricot, grapefruit and toffee. The finish is bittersweet with more notes of apricot.

Small bottle bought at Pigs Ear BF 2010 and drunk at home. Hazy deep orange amber colour with lasting beige head. I love these single hop beers and I love Fuggles so really forward to this. Sherberty leafy hop aroma. Big sweet syrupy IPA, more akin to a hoppy barley wine to be honest rather than an IPA. Some warming strawberry jam on the malts. Really this has to be a barley wine. Lovely and warming on a very cold wintery night. Hops are there but not overly dominant. Some tangy bitterness on the finish.

Bottle at Pigs Ear 2010. Hazy amber lasting beige. Syrupy earth hop aroma. Cascedes can be earthy. Full in mouth. Bid g warming syrupy IPA perfect for a winters day. Good condition and love the big sweet hop

Bottle from Nelson Wines, Merton. Black pour with a tan head. Rich nose of dark chocolate, caramel, coffee and sweet spices. Warming, shoulder massaging flavours of coffee, dark chocolate, toffee, caramel and raisins. Smooth, dry finish. Lovely!

275ml, 2008 vintage. Bottle 139. Pours a hazy, murky brown with no head. Aroma is dark fruits, burnt sugar, yeast and some licorice. Raisin starts, burnt sugar and a caramel malt finish.

Cask (handpump) @ Smithfield Hotel, 37 Swan St, Manchester, Greater Manchester England M4 5JZ.Clear dark orange color with a average, creamy to frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, heavy hoppy, citrus - orange - plum, citurs juice notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Cask@GBBF2010. Amber colour, not much head. Aroma is plumpudding, spices, syrup and some nutmeg. Flavour is fruits, plumpudding, spices, mild wood and some slight gingery notes as well.

Bottle very kindly passed on by Nigel (Hopshackle brewer) Many thanks Nigel, shared with friends at Merton Summer Beer Festival July 17th 2010 Dark brown in colour (as I recall, my phone notes are very sketchy) the head is light beige. Bitter in the mouth with plenty of roastedness, good coffee flavours flooding through. This is also surprising in that it is really hoppy, with fresh green resinous hops showing. Its a nice beer and another interesting experiment, well done Nigel. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4
