Sample at the brewpub. Clear copper color with a medium white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of tropical fruit, hops and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of tropical fruit, piney hops and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a fruity hops aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

Sample at the brewpub. Clear pale amber color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily to a film. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of piney hops, fruit and malt. Medium to full body with a floral and resiny hops character, with some grainy malt and fruit in the background. The finish is moderately bitter with a piney hops aftertaste. Solid beer all around.

Sample at GABF 09/26/2015, thanks to my sis for assistance with note-taking. Hazy golden color with a medium white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Spotty lacing. Aroma of herbal wheat and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of wheat, grassy hops and malt. The finish is wheaty and herbal with a slightly hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sampled from the tap at GTMW 2015. Pours a hazy amber orange with a yellowish brown head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma is quite oaky with a decent amount of toffee, dark fruits and a bit of sweetness. Flavor has a decent amount of oak with earthy fruits, toffee and sweet dark grains.

GTMW 2015. Very strong basil aroma. Lots of basil in the flavor, some salt, and yeast. Gold color, I don’t think this is sweetened and I like the spice and coriander. A little unusual.

GTMW 2015. Very sweet initially but it does have the proper Belgian flavor. Brown color like an Abt. Small head, light carbonation, a little oak, dry finish, after the sweetness is past the palate. A style I enjoy and this was one of the better American examples i have tried, I liked the dark color rather than so many of these that appear to be brewed like a tripel with more alcohol.

Bottle at the DC Local Gathering on 8/1/2015. Dark brownish black with tan head. Aromas of chili pepper, peanut butter. Tastes of dark chocolate, peanut butter, roast, caramel. Full body with a dry finish.

22oz bottle pours a murky, deep black with a ring of creamy, tan head. Nose has plenty of nuts and chocolate, like smelling a liquid Snickers, a little rootbeer. Flavor is even better and that probably sounds crazy, big malt, chocolate, nuts, molasses, nougat, caramel, coffee... everything. Full bodied but also dry. Really solid.
