Taster at the Small City Taphouse. Pours black, with a medium, foamy, tan head. Mild coffee aroma up front, with distinct peanut brittle, toast, and bitter chocolate. Sweet and syrupy, with a light, roasted bitterness. Medium body, with a velvety, smooth palate. This is a balanced, aromatic, and just tasty beer.

Bottle: Black with a small tan head. Roasty, chocolate-covered peanut aroma. Taste is a little boozy, dark chocolate malt, peanut. Very rich and full....and the alcohol doesn’t present itself harshly....just lends a little menthol-like cooling to it. Mellow, chewy.....good stuff.....Thanks Shrubber!!!

Bottle (from a trade - it was so long ago I can’t remember who. And I promised to share it with a bunch of people, but the tasting group fell apart right after the trade so I’ve had it in my fridge waiting for another chance but finally got tired of waiting - at least I’ll share it with Patrickctenchi). Peanut butter, chocolate malt, and herbal hay aroma. Black with moderate tan head. Moderately sweet peanut butter, chocolate malt, and moderately bitter herbal hay/gentian root flavor. Nice body. Very good.
