It's got a very nice red color (from the raspberries, of course) and a good smell. However, I was more impressed with those than the actual taste. Where the beer's not bad, it was more like drinking wine than beer; there's very little carbonation. Not bad, but not my first choice on my next trip. However, I have a friend that loves this award winning brew.

Deep brown, almost no head, but had hints of color inside the browns. GREAT smell; a very well balanced and strong clove, nutmeg, and cinnamon. This is the best smelling spiced beer I have smelled thus far. It really is a great smelling brew-- unfortunately, it won't be around again for ahile. MMMM... taste is nice... take all of the smells and combine them.... A bit thin in the mouth, but not BAD. Most of Willoughby's beer's have a thinner mouthfeel- you get used to them (for the most part) I would drink this all night long, except there were a few other "new" brews I wanted to sample.

Appearance: NICE dark brown with a small head that disappears quickly. Smell: roasted coffee beans, roasted nuts... mmmm Taste: same: very coffee and nut flavored, a hint of smokiness; creamy Mouthfeel: NICE! smooth... Whenever I run out of something new to try at Willoughby, this is the beer I go back to. My favorite offering from WBC.

(draught) Dark brown, red shine; little rim for head. Heavy raspberry-jam nose, with somehow bready malt notes behind it. Raspberries, real ones, in the taste, nothing too sweet; surprisingly dry finish. Well-bodied, fruity, lip-smacking. Another very good USA fruitbeer. If Belgian brewers would relearn the real thing's the winner...
