Sample at the brewpub: Clear amber color with a medium thin bone white head. Thin, spotty lacing. Hoppy, floral aroma. Medium-bodied with a good amount of citrusy hops, as well as some toasted malt. The bitterness doesn’t last very long but it is nice while it is there. The finish is dry and bitter, with hops and a touch of fruit. A pretty good session ale.

Sample at the brewpub: Pale golden-yellow color with an ultra-thin white head and speckles of lace. Fairly wheaty aroma with a bit of earthy malt. Light, clean body with a mild wheat and hops flavor that doesn’t really pack any punch. The finish is short and does not leave much of an aftertaste aside from some residual wheat flavor. Pretty much the standard "Light" offering that most brewpubs carry.

On draught at 69 Taps in Akron. Lightly-hazed pale golden color with a medium thin white head and little lacing. Aroma of light hops and yeast. Light-bodied and effervescent with a yeasty character. There is a bit of hops and fruit flavoring as well. The finish is short, mildly bitter and refreshing. All in all this is a straightforward and easy to drink (or dumbed-down?) take on the style.

On draught at 69 Taps in Akron. Pours a dark brown color with reddish highlights. Medium beige head that lasted pretty well. Thin and sticky lacing. Pleasant aroma of malt and nuts. Medium-bodied and sweet with lots of malt flavor. Some caramel and nuts come through as it warms, and the 8.7%+ alcohol is well-masked. The finish is malty and is a little thin compared to the great Doppelbocks out there, and that is really the only thing keeping this beer from being a standout. Otherwise it was very enjoyable.

Sample at 69 Taps in Akron. Wine cooler red color with a thin off-white head and very little lacing. The aroma is all raspberry, and pretty nice. Light-bodied and very bubbly with the raspberry flavor dominating all. I like fruit beers better when there is more going on than a carbonated fruit beverage flavor. The finish is sparkling and fruity. A decent summertime beer, but there are much better fruit beers available.

On draught at 69 Taps in Akron. Just ask for "FKB". Dark amber color with a dense light beige head. Thin and spotty lacing. The aroma is malty and sweet. Medium-bodied and very smooth with a pleasant malt flavor. Some roastiness and nuttiness are present too. The finish is sweet and short, and has a touch of hops. All in all a pretty good session beer.

(draught) Dark brown, red shine; little rim for head. Heavy raspberry-jam nose, with somehow bready malt notes behind it. Raspberries, real ones, in the taste, nothing too sweet; surprisingly dry finish. Well-bodied, fruity, lip-smacking. Another very good USA fruitbeer. If Belgian brewers would relearn the real thing's the winner...
