Nice beer. Boozy and it shows, but also right to style. Lovely esters and phenols. I’m happy with it. Sterk ams

Amberkleurig bier, licht troebel. Heel licht aroma van kruiden en hop. Smaak is zoet, hoppig en kruidig. Weinig nasmaak.

Bottle 33cl. @home poured into a tulip glass. Clear deep amber colour, tall frothy white head, mostly diminishing, light lacing. Aroma sweet malts, caramel, yeast, floral hops, lavender. Taste light light heavy sweet and light bitter, malty, toffee, honey, yeasy notes. Medium body, oily to sticky texture, soft carbonation, sugary notes, acceptable brew.

0.33 l bottle from 'Sterk Avondverkoop', bottled in May 2020 (bought just a few weeks ago). Almost clear, deep orangeish amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, gently fruity, a little herbal aroma of grapefruit, orange and light spruce. Gently sweet, moderately bitter, slightly fruity, quite herbal taste of orange, grapefruit, spruce and licorice root, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, rather herbal finish. Medium body, smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Not really IPA-ish, rather herbal, probably too old?!

Let’s get a real rating in there. Black with creamy light head. Deep roasted malts, charcoal, inky, some seaweed (probably the Lapsang Souchon), vegetal and burnt. Moderate sweet, fairly bitter. Over medium body and quite carbonated. Dry burnt finish.

Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Very dark brown with dark beige head. Roasted malts, coffee, soft smoke, tea, toffee, cardboard, metallic finish, green veggies. Quite sweet, medium bitter. Over medium bodied. Starts quite OK but the vegetal and metallic finish really gets to much after a few sips.
