Bottle at the hotel in Bologna. Pours clear, very pale yellow with a fluffy, white head. Has a bit of cereal and light corn in the aroma. Flavor is quite sweet with sugary cereal, straw and crackers. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet, lightly crisp finish with more sugar cereal, hints of alcohol and vague bitterness of hay. A fairly poor example of pilsener, but a drinkable beer.

66cl bottle at 1.20€. Pale gold with a fine foamy head reducing to a nice lacing. Nose of hay and sweet malts. Similar to the Premium version, more grainy and body. Lager malts are the main plate, with other grains, corn, a touch of honey and some grassy notes. Overall sweet, very sublte bitterness but mostly sweet that worsen as it warms up, unbalanced... Not dry, dusty, sticky. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. In the middle between Premium (lighter but cleaner) and Kronen (flavored, crisp and spicy). I like Forst products but was expecting more on the hoppy side. This tend to resemble a sweet Dortmunder/Helles. If you like dense grainy sweetish beers this is for you, otherwise you’ll hate it. I put it 50/50.

Tap as Forst Rossa at a pizzeria in Firenze. Pours ruddy amber with a small creamy beige head that laces. Aroma of oak? Med body. Flavor is lightly grapey ande fairly woody. Finishes on the bitter side. Very good beer. So. Did I get beer that was a bit infected? Or is there another Forst beer that is widely distributed that pours copper/amber? I had a very good beer.
