(Bottle) Slightly hazy straw colour with tiny white head. Aroma of grapefruit with some floral and cardboard notes. Light bodied and moderate but quite coarse fizzy carbonation. Flavour is overall rather watery and light. It starts quite pleasantly with a nice balance of citrusy tartness and very light malt sweetness. However it then falls rather flat followed by developing a not very pleasant rather metallic bitterness. Not James Squires’ best.

Pours dark amber with a fading head.Nose shows heavy ginger and some honey. Smells like ginger bread.Honey and ginger as flavours too. Not bad but a bit too sweet with no balancing bitterness.Body feels watery.

(on tap) Clear brown with good head. Nice fruity and floral aroma. Pleasant malt sweetness in start and middle with an adequate bitterness in finish. A very good beer.

Bottle thanks to Caitlin. Pours a clear amber with a gray head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice sweet earthy grain note with a cereal backing. Flavor is similar with earthy sweet grains throughout and a bit of cereal and hay in the finish.

There’s a disappointingly brief head on this, but the aroma is like a having a caramel crown with an espresso - chocolate, caramel and loads of biscuit and coffee. There’s more of that biscuit flavour in the mouth with some chocolate and coffee in the middle of the tongue and a little hops on the sides. The only knock on this beer is that the palate is a little thin.

Dobre, zwłaszcza z wyglądy. Piana jak kożuch, mocno się zaznacza na szkle. Kolor złoto miedziany. Aromat drożdzowy. W smaku średnia goryczka i owocowość umiarkowana.

Bottle. Orangish brown with a soft drink-like that fizzes away to nothing in a few seconds. Aroma of mature ginger, brown sugar, kaffir lime leaves. Nice. Then it’s a letdown. Thin and flat mouthfeel. Very slight sweetness, only a little ginger, some citrus. And then at the finish, it’s pleasant again - dry, mild ginger, gentle citrus. It’s quite good apart from when you’re actually drinking it.

When I think of really hoppy beers, I think of tart, citrus flavours, but despite the extreme hopping this is all about the sweet wheat. There is a reasonable amount of citrus on the nose, together with stone fruit. In the mouth, the hops are strong but not overly bitter before giving way to a cloying taste best described as fermented peach. It’s an odd combination and not one I’d want to get into all night, but as an experiment, I enjoyed it. (this is my first use of the rate beer android app and I like it a lot, ftr).

(bottle) Clear amber, no head. Aroma has gentle ginger notes with a hint of candy. Medium body, light carbonation. The flavour is disappointingly bland. There’s quite a nice start balancing citrusy tang, honey and hints of ginger, but it falls away to a bready vaguely gingery flat middle and finish. Overall it’s bland - unexciting but inoffensive.
