Description
Between 2011 and 2013, the adventure of the Brasseurs du Grand Paris was written on the 5th floor (no elevator) of a building in Levallois when Fabrice (a Breton who became Levalloisien) and Anthony (an American who became Parisian) met, both passionate about craft beers. Initially the Brasseurs du Grand Paris were nomadic brewers but in September 2016, we left our respective jobs and moved to St Denis to start setting up our brewery there. A 20 HL brewing room, 6 40 HL fermenters, 2 80HL fermenters, and an isobar packaging line to start our Dyonisian adventure. The first beer was brewed in St Denis in February 2017. Thus the Brasseurs du Grand Paris became the Brasserie du Grand Paris.

Cloudy brown-amber color, fizzy head, reducing quickly. Some aroma of smoke, wood, chestnuts and dry yeast. Highly carbonated; some malt/caramel flavor, medium smoke, with a woody touch, dry mouthfeel, far from the fatty Bamberg beers; there are traces of yeast, otherwise it’s a good beer. Still a bit rough but pleasant.

Hazy amber color, small creamy head. Very nice aroma of fresh resiny hops, then fruity hops, later some herbs and honey. The mouthfeel is just a bit weaker than expected, rather dry and smooth; quite good dry malt flavor with a hint of toffee; strong bitterness, providing enough resins and limited fruits; the final is getting drier, with a grassy touch. Some rough edge, not fully refined, but very drinkable.
A good start for this brewery.
