Can from Appellation Wines. Golden orange with only a very slight haze. Creamy snow white head. Initial floral note then banana and clove comes through. The taste is more tangy orange and bready. Some spice lurking but no banana. Medium bodied, tangy and dry rather than expected creamy. Not exactly the palate I expected but good all the same.

Can from Cork and Cask. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aromas of chocolate and liquorice. Taste is light roast, more dark chocolate, liquorice root. Light roasted bitter finish.

Can from Cork and Cask. Pours clear red brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of toffee and hazelnut. Taste has faint red fruit and light smoke on top. Bottle from Grain Schooner. It pours hazy deep reddish - brown with a big fizzy yellowy beige head. The aroma is big filthy funk upfront, brett, zingy, tart, tangy, loads of tangy berry, cranberry, raspberry, cherry, tangy orange, Irn Bru, sherbet, loads of fizzy cola bottles and flying saucers. The taste is dry upfront, damp oak, musty, funky, barnyard, brett, brown bread, tannin, crazy fruity, jammy berry, cherry, cranberry, candy, fizzy cherry cola bottles and a splash of Irn Bru with a soft, funky finish. Medium body and moderate, fizzy carbonation. Proper bonkers stuff. The aroma in particular is standout.

Can thanks to Phil. Appearance - jet black and opaque. Creamy tan head. Nose - rich chocolate and roasted malts. Taste - again roasty, some chocolate and caramel. Palate - surprisingly for the ABV, this is medium bodied. Roasty finish. Overall - pretty impressive!

Taste - tar, edge of blackcurrant and even a bit of liquorice going on. Palate - close to medium bodied, despite the low ABV. Light roasty middle and finish. Overall - really lovely stout.

Can from Westhill Service Station. It pours deep lightly hazy reddish - brown with a bubbly beige head. The aroma is earthy roast, toasty, umami, puff of peat smoke, brown bread, malt loaf, touch of toffee, raisin, fruit cake and wood. The taste is dry upfront, toothy, brown bready malts, earthy roast, toasted malt loaf, dried fruits, fruit cake, raisin, mellow smoke, peat, wood and a touch of spice with a drying, bready finish. Light+ body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. This has to be the best Scottish light made. Has a complexity one would never expect from the style. Great stuff. Excellent with an dram.

Can from Appellation Wines. Appearance - cloudy yellow with a snow white head. Nose - lemon, orange and lightly bready. Taste - more citrus and breadiness. Palate - light bodied, creamy middle and tangy, dry finish. Overall - better than most Kolsch from Germany, in truth.
