Description
In 2010 zijn we begonnen met het brouwen op een 50 liter installatie die we geïmporteerd hebben uit Amerika, de zogenaamde “Brewmagic”. Door drie batches achter elkaar te brouwen hadden we een capaciteit van maximaal 150 liter per dag. Dat bleek al snel te klein.

Daarom zijn we vlot op zoek gegaan naar een grotere installatie en sinds 2012 brouwen we op onze 750 liter installatie. In 2019 hopen we ongeveer 25.000 liter bier te brouwen

Geen black IPA meer eigenlijk. Gewoon een imperial stout met een aardige barrel. Niks mis mee.

Fles 33cl thuis. Maltig, zoeten, donker fruit, bitters, honing, yeasty, grassig, citrus, redelijk koolzuur, toffee, caramel. (10-1-2021).

Bottle. Black pour. Aroma of strong bourbon vanilla, chocolate, caramel fudge, sweet cherry, coconut and malt. Taste has strong boozy bourbon, chocolate, coffee, vanilla, caramel fudge, licorice, malt and a sharp alcohol flavor. The aroma is more refined than the flavor. This is like chocolate liqeur, the booze is too sharp. Better than the other xv brew, but still not on par with their zwarte snorre series.

330ml bottle thanks to MonsterMagnet. Pours dark with creamy pale tan head. Medium to light bodied, some good woody roast with a gentle pinot influence. Some additional dried dark fruits, mild tannin. Good to try a nice BA wonder from this brewery again!

375ml bottle, thanks to MonsterMagnet for this! Drunk watching the Matrix. Pours a mucky brownish gold, no head. Wild, acetic nose. Comes across a bit ropey, certainly wild, some mild acetic notes, vinegar, card, dried dark fruits.. Could do with a bit more pop to bring out more complexity and depth of flavour, certainly nowhere near the high standard of wild beer being produced currently.
