Description
1567: Erste urkundliche Erwähnung der Schlossbrauerei Moos. 1789: Johann Kaspar Graf von Preysing legt die Brauereien Aholming und Moos zusammen. Er errichtet aus den Steinen den Grundstock der heutigen Brauerei. 1960: Graf Ulrich Philipp von und zu Arco-Zinneberg fasst sämtliche Brauereien, die im Besitz der gräflichen Familie sind, unter dem Namen Arcobräu zusammen. Stammhaus wird die bis dahin sogenannte Schloßbrauerei Moos.

Wenn die Freude überschäumt, gute Laune nicht zu bremsen ist und die Lust auf ein gutes Bier am größten ist, dann ist man mitten im Leben, mitten in Niederbayern. Da, wo seit fast 500 Jahren unser Arcobräu gebraut wird mit viel Tradition, mit jeder Menge Erfahrung und freilich auch nur mit den besten Zutaten: Unsere Hefe beispielsweise aus eigener Reinzucht, dem allerbesten Hopfen aus der Hallertau oder dem Brauwasser aus unserem 96 Meter tiefen Mineralwasser-Brunnen. Das schmeckt nicht nur den Menschen, die hier leben, sondern mittlerweile Bierkennern in ganz Bayern. Nicht ohne Grund ist das Gräfliche Brauhaus Arcobräu mittlerweile der größte Bier-Lieferant von Volksfesten in Ostbayern.

Herb und muffig beginnt das Bier, Im Mittelteil kommt eine leichte Malzigkeit dazu. Dabei wirkt das Ganze allerdings relativ lasch und lässt die Würzigkeit weitestgehend vermissen. Test vom 3.9.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,7,8,6,7,6 - 6,80

Bottle picked up in Waitrose, Witney, July 10th 2006. Golden orangey in colour, wheaty and malty and sweet on the nose with maybe some tropical fruit, a very clean and refreshing beer that tastes great some spiciness fruits including slight cirtrusy bite, very good beer.

Bottle. Sour malt and chocolate aroma. Dark brown with moderate head. Light brown sugar/caramel malt flavor - light bitter finish. Decent but somewhat light and one dimensional.

Bottle. Bought in Munich. Brewed for Yormas. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Nice flavor, a little acetic. Average finish. Oily palate. Nice beer.

Bottle from Waitrose. Dirty old gold colour, lasting thick white head. Spicey cereal; oats, some banana aroma. Smooth in mouth, full and more cereal. Nice refreshing finish with more banana. Quite nice.

(bottle) Hazy orange colour with a big foamy white head. Sweet malty grainy nose with strong fruity (banana, citrus) notes, cloves and a sourish touch. Sweet wheaty and fruity taste with a balanced clovy and light bitter, also slightly tart finish. A creamy and quaffable Weizen.

(bottle) Hazy and dark amber colour with a firm foamy slightly off-white head. Toasty wheat-malts and banana aroma with yeasts and a dense touch of cloves. Almost smooth mouthfeel, light to medium bodied. Initially light-toasted malts, yeasts and banana, slightly acidic, tart and malty fruity finish with a very light bitter note.

(bottle) Clear and dark chestnut colour with a foamy off-white medium head. Sweetbitter aroma with caramel malts and herbal hops with a shy metallic tinge. Bittersweet and almost dry malty taste, slightly roasted with caramel, medium to light bodied, crisp mouthfeel, herbal hoppy and bitter finish.

(bottle) Clear and pale golden colour with a stable foamy white medium head. Floral hoppy and bitter lemon aroma with a touch of honey. Bitter and fruity flavour, light to medium bodied, lively carbonated. Dry malty taste with honey and a herbal hoppy lasting bitter finish. Aromatic and quaffable Pils.
