Description
Yards has been brewing Philly's beer since 1994. We’ve grown from a garage-sized operation in Manayunk all the way up to our current location at 500 Spring Garden Street in Northern Liberties. And we couldn't have done it without your support through the years. Our beers always have and always will be brewed, bottled, kegged, and canned for the hard working people of Philadelphia and beyond.

This is a pale IIPA, with a bright yet indistinct hop nose. And similar palate, emphasis on hop, good balance. For the hop, prob a little too strong.

From tap, City Tap, Logan Sqr. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is solid hoppy, pine, peaches and grapefruit. Mild sweet, fruity, crisp hoppy. Hides the alcohol well. Bitter, fruity, peachy amd grapefruity.

Tap, bocktown. Clear pale with hints of vinegar on the nose. Big strong volatile impressions on the uptake. Rude, nasty and uncivilized. Ubiquitous uncivilized and just like so many other big domestic beers. Don’t know if aging would round out this BW er not. Warming upper digestive track finish. Yes, terribly on style for a domestic BW.

On tap at Yards brewery. Decent, fulfilling barleywine. Normal pour, malts dominate, as expected, not exceptional, but adequate.

On tap at Yards Brewing. Malty, slick strong lager. Still lots of crisp hops, to remind you it’s a lager. Pretty smooth and tasty.

Tap bocktown. Big & black, nice lacing from a creamy head. Neutral aroma. Wew, from the start the taste is lots of whiskey, whiskey laced porter. What else can be said except if you want bourbon, go get a shot, don’t mix it with good porter, if I want boiler-maker, I’ll order a boiler-maker, go figger. Piss me off. Yes, if you didn’t guess it, bourbon whiskey is what this beer is all about. Bourbon is in yer face, not impressed - bullshit, exactly as stated, porter aged in bourbon soaked barrels, what else would you expect?
