Bottle, 5.5% as Ricklinger Special IPL. Mild caramelly and piney hop aroma. Cloudy red/amber colour. Small frothy chalk white head. The flavour has an OK hoppiness, medium bitterness. A caramelly note as well, a bit like a red ale

Bottle, 4.8%. Good roast barley aroma, hint of coffee. Clear very dark brown colour. Small stable frothy off-white head. The flavour is nicely roasted with toasted rye bread notes, hint of dark caramel, ashes, a little coffee in the finish. Good barley bitterness, but not too strong. Well-balanced and good.

Bottle bought at the brewery. Pours nearly clear dark copper brown with shades of ruby and stable beige head. Clear aroma of malt and yeast, with notes of hops and caramel. Sweetish flavour of caramel malt and yeast, complemented by bitter notes of hops, mroast and alcohol. Bitter aftertaste with estery and caramellish notes. Not bad but the alcohol bitterness is a little disturbing. My Schleswig-Holstein rating #100 :-)

Bottle, as Special IPL. Pours clear darkish amber with stable off-white head. Clear aroma of hops and citrus, with notes of malt, yeast and caramel. Bitter, hoppy flavour with citric and malty notes and pronounced touches of yeast. Bitter and grassy aftertaste with estery notes. Low carbonation. Not an IPA as such but definitely drinkable and not that bad.
