16/4/2022. Bottle shared with the ITFC boys at the Rotherham beer share. From Beer Central, Sheffield. Pours dark ruby brown with a small frothy off-white to beige head. Aroma of malt, chocolate, dried fruit, toffee, blackberry, touch of ash and coffee. Medium sweetness and light roasted bitterness. Medium body, slightly creamy, soft carbonation. Enjoyable.

4/3/2022. Bottle from Beer Central, Sheffield. Pours clear amber mahogany with a frothy off-white head. Aroma is bready, malty, toffee, chocolate, dried fruit. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness and body. Oily with average to soft carbonation. Looked great, nicely done esb.

Aroma is citrus, floral, sweet malt, grass, touch herbal. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Moderate body, slightly oily, average carbonation.

Bottle. Mitchell’s Wines. Mostly clear medium gold. Nicely sticky white foam. Nose has sweet lemon and lime hop. Some tang. Bit of strawberry. Clean malts. Taste is moderately bitter with malt sweetness on the lips. Clean mouthfeel with light carbonation. Bitterness builds on the finish. Great golde. Lovely nick too.

Tap. The Blind Bull, Little Hucklow, Derbyshire. Soft haze on a pale gold. Thin lasting white foam. Nose has lemon peel. Bready malt. Some fruity hop. Taste is dry and light bitter. Clean and refreshing on the palate. Crisp fizz. Light bitter finish. Ok.

Cask. The Blind Bull, Little Hucklow, Derbyshire. Clear chestnut brown. Decent off white head. Nose has tea loaf grain. Some fruit hop. Hint of caramel. Taste is light bitter. Some caramel sweetness. Light body. Prickly carbonation. Moderate bitterness to finish finish. Contemplated adding this as an amber ale. 50/50 really. Anyway, decent cask offering.

Cask at the Miners Arms, Eyam, 17/09/20. Clear golden blonde topped with a white covering ... good full glass lacing follows. Nose is dusty citric rinds, grass, toasted malts, grains. Taste comprises citric peel, crackers, light breads, melon. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with modest bitterness. Good refreshing fayre.

Cask at the Devonshire Arms (couple of pints of), Baslow, 17/09/20. Clear golden with a well presented white cap ... lacing ensues. Nose is pale malts, grass, light herb, lemon drizzle. Taste comprises pale malts, light breads, grass, lemon tinged straw, trace of honey. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Decent refreshing gold.
