Bottle. It's a dark, dark brown beer with a big, foamy light beige head. Foamy lacing too. The aroma is rather burnt, with charcoal, licorice hints, some dark dried fruit and dark sugar, and a hint of burnt bread crust or toast. It's quite effervescent on the palate, medium bodied and semi sweet, although it feels a bit drier in the swallow. Burnt malts, charcoal, tar, prunes and some toast and licorice in the flavor. A vague piney hoppiness chimes in too. Medium length finish. A bit messy this one, but I like what I reckon is the idea behind the brew. 220728

Bottle. It's a mostly clear deep golden to amber colored beer with a small, dense and firm white head. Nice lacing. The aroma is rather malty, with caramel, bread, some toffee, and a light piney and grassy touch. It's medium bodied, soft and nicely carbonated, not too sweet, and with a decent bitterness. The flavor too is too malty, diacetyl kicking in, with bread, toffee and caramel. Some piney hops as well. Medium length finish. Not much of a session IPA this, but at least it's sort of drinkable. 220728
