One thing you can say about this beer is that at least it looks good! Nice amber colour, huge head wich leaves a beautiful lace-work in the glass. Drinking it, however isn't such a great experience. Faint, neutral aroma. The only flavor that you really notice is a hint of alchohol.

Very tasteless dark lager. Far too thin and slightly sweetish. No must have.

Pale golden, crystal clear. Somewhat sweetish, clean, aroma of citrus and coriander.

Black, rich, warming and fullbodied. This is just perfect for a cold Finnish winter night.

A light schwarzbier in the Schwarzer Steiger mode, but give Koff for one thing - this beer has a smooth maltiness that is hard to attain. And, they don't require the use of nitrogen to get it.

I don't know if this is a filtered version of the departed Kruunu or not, but it is very much like a witbier, with a light palate, and some citrus accent. Not as good, and especially not as complex, as Kruunu was.

Jet black, warmingly fruity ( burnt fruitcake, raisins), long, long finish. The best of the Baltic porters, and I've had a few. Se on hyv olutta.

Somewhat thin body and palate. Ok coffeeish and dark malt flavours, but not the best dark lager in Finland by any means. A rival to Koff Velvet. The name means Black Horse.

First off, I’m now a full-fledged convert of the Baltic porter style. Anyway, this beer is strong and chocolatey. Aroma is full of dark fruits. Flavor is almost like cocoa, with more dark fruits. Very nice opaque dark brown color, with a dark tan head. Excellent strong porter. Rerate: 2000 bottle sampled in 2006. Poured at 60 deg F, probably warmed close to 70 deg by the end of the glass. Potent but balanced aroma of roast/ash and bittersweet cocoa, some soy sauce (in a good way). First sip is a revelation as that brown foam passes the lips like whipped cream, setting the stage for a full velvety mouthfeel. Despite the fullness, its barely sweet at all, with a nice dry roasty finish and notes of coffee in between. I love this combination of full body and dryness, and its so hard to find. Outstanding when fresh, beautiful aged.

If one were to look at the world with a perpetually positive outlook, then this beer is better than St. Ides.
