Can shared at a drinking session in Tromsø. Pours a golden body under a short lived soapy head. Brief notes of pale malts and grass in aroma. Sweet water flavour with a corn-like touch. Dry cardboard finish. Rather faint palate (14.06.2008).

Bottled, thanks oh6gdx! Clear golden, minimal head. Neutral nose. Medium sweet with clean hard mouthfeel. Fruity but otherwise nearly flavourless, No bitterness of course. Industrial crap.

Canned (as Hartwall 1836 Classic Chocolate Porter), thanks oh6gdx! Dark brown, rich tan head. Aroma of cocoa powder. Medium dry with clean mouthfeel and light body. Flavour is all cocoa powder with a slight metallic edge and a chocolate sauce finish. A fair attempt, but lack ot talent.

Canned, thanks oh6gdx! Pale golden, brief head. Fruity nose. Sweet and lightly grassy. Light-medium bodied with simple malt profile and short somewhat bitterish finish. Not uch flavour, but for being a standard lager from an indstrial brewer it’snot too bad.

(Canned) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty nose with hay, grain and grass. Malty, grainy tatse with residual malt sweetness, hay and hints of grassy hops in a very short finish. Thin and watery. No technical fault, just plain boring.

Courtesy of CigarCityBrew. First US based rating of this beer.

Pours dark clear amber with thin tan head. The aroma is full on chocolate spanning the range from dark to milk chocolate to go along with some roastiness and graham crackers. Very nice. Just like the aroma there is a ton of chocolatiness in the flavor from tasty dark chocolate to slightly lactose infused milk chocolate. Behind that I can sense burnt malts and faint drying malt astringency. Very nice mix of flavors.

440ml Can - Hazy golden in colour with a white head. The aroma is a bit spicy with some tea and dried apple and a twist of lemon. The taste is a bit thin and watery at first but is quite refreshing. Lemon and tea can be detected with a slightly spicy element. A little aritificial (the numbers are listed on the can) but it is refereshing and is an interesting hybrid of a wheat beer and a lager.
