330ml bottle. Clear, deep golden colour with huge, frothy to creamy, fully lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Fruity aroma has notes of pear and red apple, a cautious peppery yeasty touch. Taste is dry, slightly grainy, strawy, minimally peppery yeasty, minimally sweet, fruity hints of peach and nectarine; soft palate, average, smooth carbonation.

A golden ale with a thick lacing off white head. In aroma, nice grassy malt with light pepper notes, herbal hops, nice. In mouth, a smooth fruity malt with light coriander and curacao, classic Belgian ale. Sampler at Battle of the Belgians at Jimmys 43.

33 cl bottle @ home. Very dark brown color. Dense, rocky beige head with long retention. Aroma’s of sugar, sweet red fruit, toffee, alcohol. Less sweet & fruity retronasal, more caramel malty. Flavor is moderate sweet, dark malts, caramel. (A bit too) high carbonation. Medium bodied. Finishes slightly roasted, with hints of bitter. Nice enough.

33 cl bottle @ home (tht 08/06/14). Golden color, slightly hazy. Dense white head with good retention & lacing. Aroma’s: sugar-ish, (sweet) fruit, some (wheaty?) acidity. More sour fruit retronasal. Flavor is light sweet, somewhat metallic, fruit. Quite high carbonation. Medium bodied. Flavors linger, but no new. OK, nothing shocking.

New Beer Distributors, NYC 11.2oz ($4.25): Pours golden with fluffy white head. Aroma is flowers, light Belgian hops, a bit of citrus, and a bunch of tasty yeast. Taste is lightly, but flavorfully hopped, with a mild bitterness running from start to finish. Spice and herb flavors are quite present throughout. Delicate beer with some nice subtlety.

33 cl. bottle sampled @ Gollem in Antwerp. Thx! Hazy citrus golden with a creamy white head. Smells like cleaning agents, huge herbs, lavender, floral, way too much for me. Taste is equal overkill for me, banana sweet with citrus cleaning agents (huge), lemongrass, BE yeast, lavender, creamy malts & creamy body. Not a bad beer from a technical point of view but I am far from a fan of these flavours.

33 cl. bottle sampled @ Gollem in Antwerp. Thx! BBF 07/03/2015. Pours a wine / pomegranate hued blackish brown with a big tanned / beige head. Nose is lots of sweet dark fruit, raisins, prunes,… light brown sugar, sweet spices & caramel, really lovely. Taste is faint molasses, lots of the same sweet dark fruits, cane & brown sugar, sweet spices, warming, caramel malts,… Very lovely. Carb. is a touch nicer than usual. Great example of the style & way better than expected, pleasant surprise & easily the best of the 3 Wolf beers.

11.2oz bottle. Hazy thick unfiltered yellow-tan body. Yeast forward, a very pleasant fruity taste full on through. A straightforward Belgian Ale, elegant and fluffy champagne effervescence. A real pleasure to drink at. Straightforward in a rich Belgian way.
