Description
Four Winds joined the burgeoning BC craft beer scene and opened their doors to a public thirsty for new local offerings on June 1, 2013. Owned, operated and built from the ground up by the Mills family and friends, we are inspired by the Four Winds in gathering flavours from around the world to create our unique West Coast and European styles. We take great pleasure in the application of new world innovations while staying true to old world techniques. Motivated by the limitless potential of beer, as well as the great brewers who came before us, we aim to craft bold beers with character, depth, and balance.

473 ml can. Pours gold with modern head. Bright aromas of melon, pineapple, pine, candied citrus and biscuit malts. Flavours of papaya, melons, pine, grapefruit, and toasted malts. Quite good.

Straw colour, slight haze, thick head, hop nose of melon, papaya. Grapefruity palate, more melon, has a clean pale malt vibe. Medium bitterness. Well-balanced.

Roasty, oak, boozy, bit bourbon but too sour, maybe too old

355mL can. Pours clear pale yellow with white head. Aroma has nice rustic yeast notes and some biscuity malt. Flavour is dry with some delicate notes of wild yeast and wood, maybe some bugs. Delicate and really well-constructed, but maybe a bit too light. Fantastic rustic beer.

473mL can, pours a cloudy bright yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out plenty of pithiness, thorny mango, and the usual lacto character. Flavour is full of lacto, with lots of yogurty notes, plenty of mango, and light pithness. Pretty much on par with regular Nectarous. It's fine.

16oz @ Ryan's (thx for the beer!). Appearance: hazy pale golden with a white head. Aroma: kettle sour notes with some fruity notes including mango. Taste: a lot of mango in the taste, but there are still those kettle sour notes. Some mango in aftertaste, too. Overall: meh.

Pale and dull. No head. The aroma has some green mango, and a bit of floral hop. On the palate it's got a lot of mango and a bit of that hop note. Moderate tartness.

Poured from 473mL can (pkg 02/05/2024). Hazy bright yellow with minimal white head. Aroma is original (recent) nectarous, don't get much of the mango, but the taste definitely has mango and nectarine. Decent, on par with the pineapple guava variant - regular Nectarous is better.

16oz (thx, Alex!) @ Ryan's. Appearance: hazy golden with a white head. Aroma: citrusy, juicy, some sugared citruses. Taste: along the same lines, a bit boozy (but it's smooth). Overall: pretty good.

Poured from 473mL can (thanks fiulijn; canned Dec 19, 2023). Hazy yellow with small white head. Juicy stone fruit, some tropical notes, mild alcohol (not as noticeable as headbangers). Decent.
