Description
Four Winds joined the burgeoning BC craft beer scene and opened their doors to a public thirsty for new local offerings on June 1, 2013. Owned, operated and built from the ground up by the Mills family and friends, we are inspired by the Four Winds in gathering flavours from around the world to create our unique West Coast and European styles. We take great pleasure in the application of new world innovations while staying true to old world techniques. Motivated by the limitless potential of beer, as well as the great brewers who came before us, we aim to craft bold beers with character, depth, and balance.

Can. Unclear yellowish orange with a good cm of white head. Aroma of grapefruit peel and leaves, some pine, light breadcrust. Fairly light bodied. Citrus, pine, an earthy note I didn't like. Dry, bitter finish. Pkd late 9/25, hasn't travelled well?

Can. Doesn't say "wild" on the can but does on the importer's sticker. Cloudy orange with a cm of white head that never q disappears. Aroma of mandarin, grapefruit, berries, crackers - a little rehydration tablet-like. And that continues into the slightly acidic taste - fruity, a little chalky, bitter, a little funky. Interesting, good.

Can. Unclear amber, a cm of off white head. Piney aroma with breadcrust, peach, some citrus. Sweet with caramel as well as breadcrust. Fruity before pine needles come through to help at the fairly bitter finish.

Dark brown. Aroma is quite chocolatey. Similar palate, maybe fruitiness, moderate bitterness, definitely alcohol in the finish, more prominent than 9% probably ought to be. Solid, balanced, simple.

On tap at Beach House. Hazy pale amber, medium head. Mild smoke aroma. Decent smoke palate. Kind of dry, maybe could use more residual sugar and less yeastiness. It’s not a miss but it could be better.

Pale, slight haze, thick head. Aroma is a touch plasticy, light body, low bitterness, slight fruitiness, I mean it’s okay but definitely this could have been better.

Bright, amber, thick head. Almost creamy body, orangey hop note, rich pale malt, light honeyish notes. Bitterness could stand to be higher.

Straw colour, mellow beech smoke nose. On the palate, it’s light, the malt being fairly thin, with a bit of smoke. Seems like it needs a little something…malt richness or body.

Pale amber, slight haze, not much head. Toasty, no ester…lager, some biscuit, medium bitterness. A bit of caramelly malt, decent.
