Mixed culture, Oak fermented Beer. Brewed and blended in Vermont.

Freak Folk Bier has been years in the making. Conceptualized by two professional brewers looking to explore their creative instincts and to escape the monotony of the typical brewery lifestyle and mentality. This is our attempt to have complete control over how our beer is brewed, fermented and presented to our local community. Our goal is to remain a humble little company and to grow organically.

We strive to present world class wild and farmhouse- inspired beer to an ever growing community of beer and wine enthusiasts to share and contemplate.

Admin Note: Freak Folk Bier is brewed at Queen City and then aged in wooden vessels. The brand was started by Queen City's head brewer Lillian MacNamara and Ryan Miller of Kent Falls, Aqua ViTea Kombucha, and many others.

Poured from 375mL bottle. Black with beige head. Vanilla forward with some cacao and fruitiness, barely picking up any bourbon here. It's fine. Forgettable.

Aroma of tropical fruit and weed. Very low residual sweetness; some creaminess from the oats; aggressive hops (citrus peel, grapefruit, tangerine, touch of tropical), and light hopburn in the finish.
Good, but it's still an unclean and rather chalky Hazy.

16oz (thx, Alex M.-G.!) shared with Phill and Alex @ Ryan's. Canned in Jun-20-2023. Appearance: murky golden with a white head, Aroma: juicy, some dankness and sweetness, still pleasant and balanced. Taste: along the same lines, fruity, nicely balanced. Overall: good one.

473ml can. Hazy, orange, dark golden colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Tropical and citrusy fruity, hoppy aroma with subdued leafy, grassy, resinous and piney aspects, oaty and wheaty malty background, notes of passion fruit and mango, peach and nectarine, some melon, blueberry, orange, tangerine, fresh pineapple, whiffs of coconut and mint. Taste is tropical and citrusy fruity, slightly piney, grassy and resinous hoppy, creamy, oaty and wheaty malty basis with low residual sweetness, notes of lemon, mango, tangerine, some lemongrass, passion fruit, kiwi fruit, a touch of blueberry; well hidden alcohol. Creamy texture, smooth and soft, minimally greasy palate, medium to fine, mildly prickly carbonation. Well balanced, complex, homogeneous - excellent!
