This was on tap and poured into a mug.
The appearance was a nice looking hazy golden orange to amber color with a bar pour’s kind of slim white head that dissipated within about thirty seconds. A light stringy lacing settles around the glass.
The smell had a sweet and lightly spiced semi-peppery aroma running under a sweet maltiness.
The taste pretty much copied the smell and carried a slight spice into the aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was there and good for the style and for me.
Overall, I say this was a pretty nice APA that I would definitely have again.

Well roasted malt. The smoke is there in the flavor and aroma, but nothing to suggest tea. I often do not like the Black IPA style, but this is good, along with the regular version.

Winterfest 2015. Surprisingly dry aroma with oak and roasted grains. Flavor has more fruit, some cherry, grapeskin, and oak dryness. Not as much port flavor as I hoped for but good. I added this as as new beer due to the port, rather than red wine barrel.

Winterfest 2015. Like their mojito beer, this does a good job of pulling of the margarita. Some lime, salty, and a citrus in the flavor. Good.

Winterfest 2015. This was one of the best beers at the festival. Hazy orange color. Apricot aroma with some yeast. Flavor has more sweet apricot, dry brett yeast. Lots of fruit that blends well with the yeasty dry finish.
