Can - Skunky pine and caramel. Clear gold with a rich white head. Piny bitterness and caramel with a long bitter finish. Balanced and great.

Can - Toasted sweet malts, christmas spices and gourd notes. Clear amber with almost no head. Gourd notes, pepper, christmas spice in the finish. Not bad, but nothing particularly exciting.

Bottle [thanks Geoffrey!] @ home shared with Dutchdrebus to celibrate his 4000th rating. Opaque black color, full sized thick beige to light brown head that lasts for a long time and leaves fair to good lacing. Aroma is malts, hops, lightly roasted malts, a hint of cocoa. Taste malts, roasted malts, hops, bitter, lightly warming alcohol and quite some (piney) bitter in the finish with a nice roasty touch. Medium to full body, medium carbonation. Very nice indeed!

Pours a clear, dark copper, with decent-sized head. Aroma is very floral, lots of fruit (citrus and pineapple stand out) and some astringency. Flavor has the citrus and tropical fruits, plus a big dose of bitter, piney hops. There’s a touch of sweetness and a big, bitter finish. It’s good, but could use further refining.

Sampled at All Pints North, 2014. Interesting purple color. Hibiscus in the aroma. Dry, flowery flavor. Light palate and refreshing on this very hot day.

Woodshed 3.0, Hot Box? Hot Damn! Sample courtesy of Sparky. 750mL pours with a mahogany colored body that supports a dirty tan head of foam. The aroma offers up big and bruising chili pepper heavy salsa, mild molasses notes, malt sweetened dark roasted malts and a light smokiness. The flavor delivers a good dose of smoke and then a thin ring of molasses. Very quickly though big chili pepper meat bubbles up along with a slowly growing peppery burn. This has a thin body and a mild malty backbone that allows the solid pepper to shine but not to the point of going over the top.

Tap at the 331. Lavender aroma and flavor, which ordinarily is an aroma I love. But in this beer, it is overwhelming and reminds me of soap. Dry and herbal, lavender finish.

Can: Poured a dark deep brown color ale with a medium size off-white head with limited retention and not much lacing. Aroma of dry raisin and brown sugar with a healthy dose of caramelized sugar is very interesting. Taste is also dominated by a healthy dose of caramelized malt with some dry raisins notes and some light residual brown sugar notes. Body is bit light to sustain all the spices and dry fruits notes with medium carbonation. Interesting beer but seems to be lacking a little bit malt profile.
