Crisp and ever so slightly hazy apricot and peach coloured body with a large, four to five centimetre tall off-white head that fades very quickly and leaves nothing on top after a few seconds, similar to a soda. Aroma of bright pungent apricots with a dry, herbal quality and some strong sugars from caster sugar and the fruits themselves, with a slight hit of the malts here as well. Light-bodied; Crisp and effervescent with a lot of sweet apricots coming out at first, also with a tart quality and some nice supportive malts with a solid punch throughout. Aftertaste is both dry and soured with a lot of sweetness from the fruit, but the apricots bring out more of the tart flavours along with a good support from the malts and rich grain. Overall, a pretty nice and fruit-driven beer that shows a lot of dry, tart and soured components and less of the malty and floral aspects than I expected, with this one being much closer to a sour ale and definitely a fruit beer, and less so of a blonde ale. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Trader Joe's in Fort Collins, Colorado on 31-January-2022 for US$1,59 sampled in my hotel room here in Charlottesville, Virginia on 19-February-2022.
