(Bottle) Pours clear straw with almost no head. Cardboard aroma. Light body with rather fizzy carbonation. Uninspiring taste, rather bland - some light malt with some mild citrus notes lifted by a bit of a bitter bite at the end. Ho hum.

(Bottle) Pours clear amber brown with tiny transient head. Aroma of biscuit with hints of candy. Light body with plenty of carbonation. Taste is dominantly malt, and quite pleasant for it. There's some nice burnt toffee notes and maybe a hint of cherry. The burnt toffee notes carry over into some long lasting bitter notes. Unusual for a Golfen Ale, and quite pleasant.

Pint on tap at Endeavour Tap Rooms, The Rocks. Crystal clear red beer with light carbonation and a thin white sticky head that laces a bit. Nose is distant malt with a hint of pepper and fruit. Slightly spritzy. Taste is mostly subdued malt with a spicy fruit. Ye Olde English Bitter finish. Pleasant enough, pushes no boundaries.

Pint on tap at Endeavour Tap Rooms, The Rocks. Golden amber beer with thin white head. Macro aroma not unlike VB or XXXX. Taste is similar to those beers at first but then a touch of toffee praline rolls right over the top leading to a sweet finish. Fascinating beer. In true ANZAC tradition it reflects standard Aussie pub beer AND standard Kiwi pub beer in the same glass!

330ml bottle into schooner glass. Faint malt aroma. Looks great, golden bronze beer with two fingers of solid white suds on top. Sporadic lacing. Medium carbonation, fine bubbles. Full bodied, smooth texture. Easy drinking, mostly light malt with some fruity hops to balance right at the end. Nice quencher.

Pint on tap at Basement Brewhouse, Bankstown. Aroma is faint lemon and old style hoppiness. Amber beer with thin white head and light carbonation. Crisp, clean, refreshing. The finish is lemon and malt. Looks and smells old-fashioned, drinks OK. Hard to get enthusiastic about this one.

330ml bottle into schooner glass. Caramel toffee nose. Deep copper colour with frothy white head, high fine carbonation. Lacing all the way down the glass. Medium body, zingy and a bit smoky. Finish has touches of dark fruit mixed in with the malt. Very nice.

(Bottle) Pours hazy coppery brown with short-lived loose head. Nice aroma - toffee with coffee and dried fruit notes. Nice palate - medium body with fine bright carbonation. Great taste with quite a lot going on. There’s a fairly subtle backbone of toffee malt sweetness. There’s some pleasant refreshing fruity, almost vinous, flavours. There’s some other very subtle coffee or woody notes. There’s very little bitterness. Very drinkable.
