Description
The MALACURIA microbrewery in Malaucourt sur Seille (57) is a family story ... It all started in 2015. Alexis, being an agricultural employee, wanted to settle with his father Pascal on the family farm converted into organic farming. The problem was that it was impossible to live together on the farm, unless you created added value from the production of organic cereals. The idea germinated during a gathering with the cousins around a good beer ... These latter being winegrowers, they produce grapes and transform them into good wine; so why not produce barley to make beer, and moreover, organic beer. It took almost a year and a half to set up the project, namely making contacts with other brewers, training for Alexis, layout of the premises, purchase of brewing equipment, all this to lead to the creation of the Malacuria microbrewery. .

Today, all of our ranges of beers are made on site and by our own means, however the malt used in the production is purchased because the malting process is too complex. Our beers are brewed in a traditional way with Belgian and English techniques according to the style of beer brewed.

Bottle from a shop in Metz. Pours hazy ochre with a lasting, small, foamy, off-white head. Aroma of mellow pineapple, apple peel, overripe mango, honey, bread, grain. Taste is light fruity sweet, restrained pineapple & pear with a bready-yeasty edge, a bit bitter, 'crude' grain, spices & apple peel, somewhat perfumey too. Dry, grassy hoppy finish, some pine, bitter fruit & yeast. Medium body, slick-watery texture, fizzy carbonation. Feels too 'empty' all in all.

Bottle from a souvenir shop in Metz - many thanks, Anke! Pours hazy brown-reddish with a lasting, small, frothy, tan head. Aroma of dried orange peel, candied banana, sweet tobacco, almond, brioche, walnut, earth, herbs. Taste is medium malty sweet, quite fruity, hints of red apple, plum & banana on a subtle caramelly & brioche-like base, becoming quite bitter, nutty, herbal, toasty & even somewhat smoky. Dry, herbal hoppy finish, nutty still, ashy eventually, though caramel & some warming liqueur-like alcohol linger too. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Feels slightly too 'harsh' in the end but the main character is good.
