Biggish brown head. Clear deep dark red body. Roasty chocolate and coffee aroma with gooseberry and wine grape notes. Dry roasty earthy chocolate taste with gooseberry notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dry roasty coffee and earth aftertaste with long lingering resin and gooseberry notes. Excellent combination of flavour: earthy, dusty roastiness together with gooseberry hops works very well. (0.33l draft at Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen.)

(bottle) Poured a hazy straw with a good white head. Lovely aroma - mainly citrus with hints of tropical fruit, particularly passionfruit. Medium body with excellent full carbonation. Great flavour with hops apparent from start to finish, but not dominated by bitterness, and the hop contribution evolves through the taste, with a gentle fruity contribution at the start moving to a decent bitter finish. At the start the lemony / tropical fruits of the aroma are present. the flavour develops some peppery spice and nice biscuity malt and then winds up with a long pleasant bitter finish. Overall a very nice beer that is all about the hops, without them overwhelming with bitterness. There’s an nice breadth of flavour in this refreshing beer.

Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours dishwater gold with a foamy 3 finger white head. Aroma is citrus and light pitted fruit with a little earthiness. Med body more or less. Flavor is astringent and earthy with citrus and fruit. It’s passing great and has a deal of hop bitter. Just brilliant ale.
