Bottle @ home, courtesy secret santa. Thanks! Fucken Barbados tick! Pours a clear, light yellow appearance with a white head. Bland straw, a bit skunky, grainy malty aroma. A bit mineralic, slightly earthy, straw, blah flavor. Ehhhh, pass.

Smells a little sweet, a little sugary. Not bad for a lager, for a flag tick. No bad aftertaste at least.

Bottle from Tesco 011012
Pale straw, crystal clear, frothy white head
Aroma - corn syrup, cereal, vague hint of spicy hop, it’s in a brown bottle so at least there is no skunkiness. sugars, bland
Taste - sweet very pale slightly buttery corn malts, soft cereal, sugars, it’s not the worst but it’s still not great
Palate - medium carb, thin body, bit oily. Finish as main flavour, rapid and dull
Overall - Nah Meh

330ml bottle - Pours a clear straw yellow with white, quickly dissipating head and little to no lacing. Smell of stewed hops and malts, not very refined, Watery palate, bitter hops after taste. Glad it was cheap!!!!!! Ticks another country...

33cl bottle from Tesco at a bargain 99p a bottle. Straw with a billowing white head that falls back to a tight covering; sweet cereal aroma with a touch of petrol; the taste is sweet and grainy and not unpleasant; and the finish is rather lacking; but this is abeer designed to be drunk very cold in the sunshine, and is more than adequate in that regard.

From BA in Jan 2009: This brown 275ml bottle (4.5% ABV) claims to be brewed in Guyana but there is no brewery listed for Guyana so I am reviewing this beer that my wife found for me on here (she found it in London). Poured into my favourite glass of the moment, a La Chouffe Tulip. Lively looking thing, plenty of bubbles rising to the good firm white head. The body was a pale gold, straw blonde colour. Not quiet as clear as a European lager/pilsner, a slight haze more than a cloud prevented it from looking clean and clear, there appeared to be a few ’floaters’ in there too. Normal 3 score for a lager non-aroma. As the beer warmed a slight hop and yeast smell did appear, but the score stays at 3. I have already reviewed pilsners from Barcelona and Munich before this one tonight and it holds up very well against those two (Damm Estrella and Augustiner). It has both body and flavour, nothing great, but it doesn’t conform to the normal lager/pils blandness. An unusual depth and richness that isn’t seen in this style very often. Can’t put my finger on it, but this isn’t a bad beer at all. Different and a pleasant surprise to be honest. Glad I was given it as a Christmas present, beats socks and pants hands down!

Bottles at home in Barbados, some on the beach. Not bad, not really an ale, more of a lager. Nice taste, pleasant after taste. Good change fron standard Banks.
