Pours a very dark, reddish-copper with minimal head. Aroma of roasted grains and hops. Flavor is dominated by the toasted grain, with strong hop undertones. This is a very nice (and very fresh) version of the black IPA.

Bottle thanks to Kyle. Shared at tasting at my house. Pours clear gold with white head. Nose and taste of perfumy hops, resin, pine, citrus and caramel malt. Finishes with bitter hop bite. Dryish. Medium body.

Just not my style of beer, but still glad to snag a couple of bottles of this. Pours a dark brown with mid-sized, thick head that very slowly dissipates. Aromas include sweet malt, ripe fruit, booze/liquor, some woodsy notes, and caramel and coffee. Flavor is very sweet with quite a noticeable liquor flavor/element to it. At first, I was tasting some licorice, then caramel, vanilla, rye whiskey, and toffee. Very smooth with a long-lasting finish. Think I’ll let my second bottle age a bit more...

Winterfest 2013. I think this was from a cask. I did not like this as much as I wanted to. It is very sweet and thick with caramel and toffee. The coffee is there but I find it to come through more as heavily roasted grains. The alcohol is well hidden. Sell this one in a nip bottle.

Pours a dark, oily black with small head. Strong aroma of roasted (almost burnt) grain. Flavors include chocolate and coffee, some licorice and roast grain, with an underlying boozy-alcohol flavor. Mouthfeel is a bit on the thin side for a stout. Could use a bit of reworking.

Pours a very light, slightly cloudy yellow, with very small head. Grassy, floral aroma. Flavor is just a bit on the sweet side with some hop character. Not a very complicated beer. Pretty light and refreshing, though not particularly noteworthy.

Bottle shared by LtDan. Pours with a murky brown hued body with a small tan head. Huge whiskey aromas, melanoidins, lightly vinous, luscious, delicious, caramel. Flavors are big, rough and in your face. Aggressive rye, alcohol, big tannin and big brown sugar. Full bodied, warming. Brash yet delicious!
